When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Humans are the most intelligent creatures ever to inhabit the earth and they have been gradually able to develop new technologies that their ancestors would have been amazed with. Technology has constantly being renewed and nourished by human skills from time to time and as the days gone the old technology used ultimately becomes traditional skills.

Technology eases our day to day work and let us to experience more freedom in our lives. It can be interpreted that technology as a bunch of knowledge in given area which is obtained with research and understanding. When human understanding on certain areas changes by time it leads to new finding in technology replacing old technology as traditional skills. But traditional skills bind with our culture, tradition and religion in contrast to technology which always relates to science. Traditional skills and life styles are usually entitled with the environment and minimized pollution. In contrast, technology in most cases leads ways to pollutions and wastes and uses natural resources alarmingly high rate.

However, newly developed technology is always preferred over traditional skills due to the comfort that it provides. Despite theses trends some countries have been able to preserve some of their traditional skills while using technology to its maximum benefit. One example is Japan, which is renowned for its rich traditions skills and culture. The efforts put on the preservation of traditions have not been wasted away in vain as good qualities of traditional skills and lifestyles have made positive impact on technology.

In conclusion, it can be said that technology is a vital part of our life and its impact on our traditional skills and lifestyle unavoidable. Unfortunately, some of our traditions may die out due to the new developments of technology and it is our duty to preserve traditions which we can for the sake of future generation.

Sports are mainly refers to activities that deals with physical strength of human beings but human intelligence also plays a vital part in the outcome of the sporting event. Sports help athletes to improve their physical and metal strength as well as to develop their personality and due to this reason sports has been considered as vital part of in daily activities. Sports are mostly preferred and popular among children due to the entertainment that it is supposed to provide while it remains as an opportunity for everyone with no age barriers.

It is a common believe that sports develop friendship and bring peace to the society despite its competitive nature .In fact the competitive nature of sport is said have given athletes the ability to enhance individual qualities which is vital aspect in the progress of peace and friendship in society.

International sporting events attracts millions of people all over the world to the destination where it is held. These events are telecasted live globally through internet, satellites and television and it provides viewer around the world to gather knowledge on different cultures. Olympics, Cricket, football and rugby world cup are some of the events which are highly attractive in the world. Moreover people who travel to witness these events have even a greater chance of gaining a deep knowledge about diverse countries and cultures. When people are more aware of various communities around the world they tend to respect other cultures and people more than they used to. Globally known sporting events also help people to identify their similarities among them and it eases international tensions making them closer.

After the Tsunami disaster which affected most of the south and East Asian countries including srilanka, India and Bangladesh, cricketers from all over the world joined together and held a cricket series for fundraising for the tsunami victims. Such evens are results of the friendship blossomed among cricketing nations in the world and this event itself improved the respect among cricketing nations.

In conclusion, Sporting events which acquire the participation of many countries would be held in regular basis in future and it could be used as a method of easing international tensions and releasing patriotic emotions in a safe way.

Women for the next century

The possession of women in society has changed remarkably in the last 20 years. Many of the problem young experience such as juvenile delinquency arise because many married women now work and are not at home to care for their children. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Since the beginning of mankind, the human civilization and culture has been mainly formed by external forces such as nature and internal forces such as religion. Women, being one of vital part of the society, have been shaped by theses forces from time to time. The role of women in society has changed with time depending on the requirement of the society.

Before the 18 th century, women were given little involvement in social activities while their main responsibility was to look after their children and most of women during that time stayed at home caring their children. In fact, they didn’t want to have employment to increase their family income as they lived in a society which had a simple lifestyle with limited needs and with abundant resources. However, after the industrial revolution, which happened around 1830 in Great Britain, with the rapid development of different areas such as agriculture, economy, science and transportation the society started to change complicating our requirements. The income of the family was not enough to fulfill its needs and As a result women had to go to work. The effects of industrial revolution allowed women to experience more freedom than they used to while the effects of industrial revolution subsequently spread all over the world even to Asian countries such as India which has a strong cultural and religious background.

As women started to work leaving her children at home alone, some children started to behave badly. It is obvious that children are not accompanied with caring and protection they used to have as their mother is busy with her work in the daytime and some children happened to involve with violent activities as there is no one at home to teach them about good and bad. But it must not be forgotten the right of women to work and experience her freedom and it is vital that women stay educated in order to guide future generation.

Most educated women have been able to manage their work and family life to an extent such that it would not affect the future of their children. So it is important that women share the same freedom that men have for admirable society.

Computers and devolopment

It is said that computers have played a major role in the development of the modern world and it has become an important part of wide range of areas such as science and technology, Economy, Agriculture, Medicine and many more. The introduction of computers for different fields has increased the overall growth of relevant fields and the development of the all inhabitants of earth. It has found that computer industry itself has achieved a significant development than any other industry in the world.

Computers have been used in wide variety of sections and its usage has been gradually expanding across many areas. Medical science is one area which has improved a lot with the use of computers over last 30 years. There are surgeries which are carried out by automated devices using the instructions fed through computers. It has helped to perform complex surgeries with precious accuracy even without a doctors performing the surgery or giving instructions to a preprogrammed computer. An eye operation for insertion of artificial lens is an example where computers are used to facilitate the preciousness of the surgery. The cockpit of an airplane is nowadays equipped with devices which are programmed or operated using computers and it has place air planes as one of the safest methods of traveling. Theses highly sophisticated devices has made pilots task much easier and one example is the usage of automated air traveling program which guides the airplane to a specified destination without the help of the pilot and there are unmanned surveillance aircrafts which are specially used by military in many countries.

Surely, we can’t think of a world without computers and it has become the backbone of our development. However, it could harm the mindset of many children and some children are addicted to computer games and movies such that they spent most of their time in front of a computer. This reduces social interaction of children which is vital element of the development of personality and knowledge. Terrorists and thieves have been able to plan their violent activities easily with the support of computers and Al Quieda terrorists used pilot stimulation program to train their terrorists for the September 9/11 attack. But Computers can’t be thrown away due to such reasons and it is necessary to find methods to overcome such problems. In fact, children have been able to learn much faster using computers than they used to.

It can be said that computer is one of the most essential item in the modern society and it will continue to play its role for many centuries to come. We are in the commencement of technological age where human are looking to explore the universe using spacecrafts and without computers none of them would have been possible. Although we like computers or not we have to live with it. It is necessary to minimize the misuse of computers and find techniques to maximize the development.

Computers in Class rooms

As computers are being used more and more in education there will be soon no role for teachers in the class room. What is your opinion on this?

There has been a significant advancement in technology over the last fifty years and information technology has been a pioneer in those achievements. It is found that Information technology has been the most rapidly growing industry in the world and its growth has given an immense improvement in many aspects of our lives. Thus, education happened to be one the most benefited among them.

Computer is one of the most attractive tools among children and its being used for education as well as entertainment by young generation. Some teachers exploit this favorability among children and use computers as tool for enhancing and improving learning experience for their student. It is believed that students who use computers learn much faster that students who don’t .The attractiveness of computer and newly software used with it help students to gain knowledge faster and easier than they used to. It allows students to go beyond the practical boundaries placed in a classical class room environment. As a result bright students may not need to adjust with the speed of other pupils.

Although computer is supposed to provide lots of advantage it can’t beat the human intelligence which a classroom teacher possesses. A teacher uses his ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of his students and apply different methods to teach his pupils. A classroom environment allows students to gain social experience which is a vital part of developing personality and improving learning skills for the pupil by associating other students and the teacher.

So it can be argued that even the most intelligent machines would find it hard to beat the elegance and ability of human teaching. The usage of computers in classrooms will increase in future with the guidance of a teacher.

Children

Children can be considered to be the most important part of the society as the future of any society and culture bears along with them. Many countries and communities focus more on children about their growth and personality development so that their children are able to take responsibilities in future. This is common in eastern countries than in western countries.

After the industrial revolution, which started from Great Britain in 18 th century and spread all over Europe and rest of the world subsequently, the world started to shrink and people had to work more to fulfill their needs. The protection and care for children gradually decreased in this economic centric world and children were forced to make some impact of family income as it was difficult to survive. The situation has worsened over the years and it is not uncommon to see children working in different industries nowadays. Being poor, Third world countries are experiencing this tragic situation than any other country in the world.

However, some people regard child labor is important for children as it gives them valuable working experience which is essential for their learning and taking responsibilities. This idea is also supported by the fact that it is a useful method of improving family income. Unfortunately children who work to supplement their family income do not learn much out of their work rather than hard laboring activities and it is unlikely to teach them about taking responsibilities. Most children experience many hardships while working and this effects their personality development badly and decrease their enthusiasm on studies and school work. It can be observed that children who are engaged in paid work have a very low ratio of finishing their studies successfully.

Every child must have a fairly good education without being disturbed form activities like paid work and it is a essentials part of the development of children and country. It is the responsibility of the government and their parents to take care of their children and guide them to a successful future.

Capital Punishment

Some believe that without capital punishment our lives are less secure and crimes or violence would increase. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It is rare to find someone who has not been punished in his life for indiscipline. It can be said that Punishment is a method which is used to hold the society together against the crimes and keeping low are order stand. Sometime punishments given by parents and teachers on children or student for their bad behaviors are acts which are fairly easy to define. These are generally for the benefit of the child or student. Although, these punishments are not difficult and are given with good intention.

Every state in the world has a legislation system in place and if someone in that country violates it he will be punished accordingly. The supreme punishment that a state can imposed on its citizen is the capital punishment which is practiced by some of the countries in the world. The aim of a solid legal system in a country is to maintain peace and equality among all civilians and to punish those who violate it. If the aim of the law and order of the state is to preserve peace and equality among in population, how can it be preserved by violating the right of someone to live?

Some argue that capital punishment is important as it is given to individuals who commit a terrible offence to the law of the state such as murder, truism and rape. So they believe that elimination of such individuals is a necessity for the quality of the society. But there is no such evidence to support that capital punishment is capable of reducing the crime rate. However Arabian countries have been able to maintain a law crime rate by applying strict rules and regulations. But those conditions can’t be applied globally where freedom is praised. Capital punishment could also raise an ethical issue as many religions and communities condemn killing.

It is important to respect the right of every individual to live even though that individual has done a terrible offence to the law of the country. It is also important to minimize circumstances which might lead to such unfortunate situations and it is the responsibility of the government to avoid such incidents.
